About Bella Booking

Our story

Bella Booking started in Sydney in 2021. The belief behind it was simple: booking software should be easy to use, fairly priced, and built for the way appointment-based businesses actually work. Owners were paying a marketplace a cut of their own regulars, or paying again for every feature they added.

So we priced it flat, took nothing from a booking, and made the first hour with the software feel obvious.

Then it grew. Memberships a client can pay off in instalments. A couples room that one booking takes for the whole hour. A chair released while colour develops. A front desk that can split one bill across cash, a card and a gift card, void a sale rung up wrong, and give back one line of a refund without touching the rest.

What we build

Bella Booking is the system the whole business runs on, from the first booking to the end-of-day balance.

Your day. A drag-and-drop scheduler with day, 3-day, week, month and agenda views. Rooms, chairs and equipment as bookable resources, with their own operating hours. A waitlist that matches a freed slot to the right client. Repeating appointment series. Group and couples bookings, including private hire of a whole space. Check-in, so the front desk can see who has arrived and who is in the chair.

Your service menu. Pricing tiers by experience level, variants, add-ons and bundles, priced and timed together. Processing time and buffers. Client eligibility, and prerequisites so a treatment can require a consultation first.

Getting booked. A branded booking page you can word yourself, step by step. Deposits, or pay to book, where the time is held only until the deposit lands. Afterpay, Apple Pay, Google Pay and card on file. Cancellation and notice policies. Recovery for the bookings a client starts and does not finish.

Taking the money. Checkout that settles one sale across cash, card, a saved card, a gift card, a package, a membership and client credit, in any combination. Named card terminals that each balance at the end of the day. A payment link you can send for what is still owing. GST, VAT or sales tax on every receipt and in your reports. Refunds, partial refunds and void, decided line by line.

Selling more than appointments. Gift cards. Prepaid packages. Memberships billed weekly through to annually, with instalment terms, capacity caps, and credit that tops up a client's balance on every payment. Client credit with top-up bonuses. Retail products with stock levels, suppliers and purchase orders, and an online shop on your booking page.

Keeping clients. Client records with full history, notes, photos, documents and tags. Duplicate detection and merge. Digital forms with signatures and file uploads. Treatment plans your client reads in their own portal and you update at each follow-up. Loyalty, referrals, birthday rewards, new-client offers and verified reviews.

Reaching them. Confirmations, reminders, follow-ups, rebook prompts, receipts and review requests, across SMS and email, every template yours to edit. Messages Plus, the one paid add-on, adds your own business phone number, a two-way SMS inbox, and SMS and email campaigns.

Knowing where you stand. A live dashboard. 31 reports, most with comparison periods and CSV export, covering sales, tax, services, products, team, retention, lifetime value and at-risk clients. Online booking analytics with traffic sources and a drop-off funnel. A weekly AI digest of what moved and what to act on. An assistant you can ask about your own data in plain language.

Running more than one. Several locations on one account, each with its own settings, team, services and reports. 68 permissions across 20 modules, on four built-in roles, three of them editable.

It is built for Beauty, Wellness & Health Practices: hair salons, barbershops, beauty salons, nail salons, lash and brow studios, spas, med spas, beauty clinics, skin clinics, laser clinics, physiotherapy, chiropractic and osteopathy practices, personal trainers and wellness clinics.

How we work

We ship continuously. Changes reach the live product every day, usually many times a day, and each one is written up on the updates page as part of the same piece of work. The page is current when you open it. Once a month we send a What's New email that pulls the month together in one read, and the updates page itself goes back to August 2025.

Much of what is in Bella came from an owner asking for it, and what we build next comes from what business owners ask us for.
