Google Calendar Sync and iCal Feed

Connect Google Calendar and choose your sync direction — two-way, push-only, or pull-only — or subscribe via iCal from any calendar app. Keep your schedule and personal events in one place.

What is calendar sync & feed?

Calendar sync connects your scheduling system to external calendars so appointments and availability stay in one place. Bella Booking provides Google Calendar sync with a choice of direction (push appointments out, pull external events in as blocked time, or both) and a read-only iCal feed for Apple Calendar, Outlook, and other apps. Each team member connects individually and picks their own direction, and updates flow automatically as appointments change.

Bella Booking offers two ways to keep your appointments visible in external calendars. With Google Calendar sync, each team member chooses their own direction: push appointments out to Google, pull external Google events back as blocked time on your scheduler, or do both. New connections start as push-only (Bella → Google), and you can switch direction instantly from your profile — no reconnecting. Each team member connects their own Google account via OAuth. For Apple Calendar, Outlook, or any other iCal-compatible app, a read-only iCal feed provides automatic one-way export of appointments. Both options work per team member, update automatically, and keep your schedule as the single source of truth.

What's included

Key capabilities of calendar sync & feed

Choose your Google Calendar sync direction

Each team member picks how Google Calendar syncs: push Bella appointments out to Google, pull external Google events back as blocked time, or do both. New connections start as push-only, and you can change direction instantly from your profile — no reconnecting.

Per-team-member OAuth connection

Each team member connects their own Google account via a secure OAuth flow. Connections are individual — one team member connecting does not affect another.

External event visibility

Events from a team member's connected Google Calendar appear as blocked time on the scheduler. Your team and online booking see accurate availability without manual updates.

Auto-reconnect banner

If a Google Calendar connection expires or is revoked, an in-app banner prompts the team member to reconnect with one click. No silent failures.

iCal feed

Each team member gets a unique iCal feed URL. Subscribe from any calendar app that supports iCal — Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and more. The feed is read-only and updates automatically.

Token-based feed access

Each iCal feed URL includes a secure token so you don't need to log in to view appointments. Regenerate the token at any time to revoke access.

Per-team-member feeds

Each team member subscribes to their own feed showing only their appointments. Keeps personal and work schedules side by side without clutter.

How calendar sync works

1

Connect Google Calendar

Each team member connects their Google account from their profile. OAuth ensures secure access without sharing passwords.

2

Choose your sync direction

Pick how Google Calendar syncs: push Bella appointments out to Google, pull external Google events back as blocked time, or both. New connections start as push-only — switch direction any time from your profile.

3

Or subscribe via iCal

For Apple Calendar, Outlook, or other apps, copy the iCal feed URL from your profile and add it as a calendar subscription. Appointments appear automatically.

4

Availability stays accurate

When pull is enabled, online booking and your scheduler reflect availability from both systems — personal commitments in Google Calendar block time automatically.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Google Calendar sync and the iCal feed?

Google Calendar sync is directional — each team member chooses to push Bella appointments out to Google, pull external Google events back as blocked time, or do both (two-way). New connections start as push-only and you can switch any time. The iCal feed is one-way and read-only, exporting appointments to any calendar app that supports iCal (Apple Calendar, Outlook, and others). Use Google Calendar sync for live two-way integration, or iCal for a lightweight view in other apps.

Which calendar apps are supported?

Google Calendar is supported for directional sync — push, pull, or two-way, chosen per team member. For one-way export, any app that supports iCal subscriptions works — Apple Calendar, Microsoft Outlook, and others. The iCal feed uses the standard .ics format.

Does the Google Calendar sync update in real time?

Appointments are pushed to Google Calendar shortly after they are created or changed. External events are pulled from Google at regular intervals so blocked time stays current.

Can I edit appointments from Google Calendar?

No. Appointments pushed to Google Calendar are managed in Bella Booking. Editing or deleting an event in Google does not change the original appointment. This keeps your schedule as the single source of truth.

What happens if my Google Calendar connection expires?

A banner appears in the app prompting you to reconnect. Until reconnected, syncing pauses in whichever direction you use — appointments stop pushing to Google and external events stop pulling in. Reconnecting restores the sync immediately.

Is the iCal feed URL secure?

Each feed URL includes a unique token. Only people with the URL can view the appointments. You can regenerate the token if needed to revoke access.
