16 September 2026

Highlights

Pay to book

No appointment until the deposit is paid; the time is held for 30 minutes while the client pays.

Booking-step text overrides

Reword the Services, Team member and Date & time steps, their subtitles and the Continue button, in your own words or your own language.

Service images

Up to 10 photos per service, so clients can see your work while they choose. Bundles pick up a lead image from each service they include.

Show or hide members-only services

Choose whether members-only services appear on your booking page with a lock, or stay off it entirely for non-members.

Membership credit

A membership plan can add credit to a client's balance with every payment, and the amount can be more than the price.

Catalogue

  • NewService imagesServices & Bundles

Add photos to a service and clients see them while they choose what to book: a thumbnail beside the service in your booking list, and the full set when they open it. Maximum of 10 images per service. The first image is the one clients see in the service list, so drag to reorder and decide which one leads. Bundles need no photos of their own: they automatically show a lead image from each of their included services. The Images tab sits at the end of a saved service, after Variants.

  • NewDuplicate a service, or an add-on groupServices & Bundles

Building the same cut at 30, 45 and 60 minutes meant filling the same form in three times. Now the three-dot menu on a service has Duplicate, and the copy opens in the editor ready to rename. It carries everything: price and duration, variants, pricing tiers, the team members and resources it is assigned to, its booking and cancellation policies, its photos, its prerequisites and its add-on groups. It lands directly below the original rather than at the bottom of the category. Add-on groups have the same Duplicate, options and links and all.

  • EnhancedAdd-on groups can be offered for specific variantsService Add-ons

A group linked to a service can be offered only for the variants you tick, so a long-hair extra does not appear when a client books a short cut. Existing groups stay on All variants.

  • EnhancedImport processing time and buffers with your servicesServices & Bundles

The service CSV import now carries three more columns: processing time, buffer before and buffer after. So a colour with 45 minutes of development time and a 10-minute clean-down comes in ready to book, without editing each service by hand afterwards. Leave a column blank to use your business default; the same everyday formats as Duration work (45, 45 min, 1h 30m).

  • EnhancedImport your stock levels with your productsProducts & Inventory

The product CSV import now carries your inventory too: a Manage inventory column and a Stock quantity column, so a catalogue arrives already counting units instead of every product landing untracked and needing to be opened one by one. If your export has a stock column but nothing saying which products you track, Bella reads the count as the answer and turns tracking on. The same import also finally carries the Available online column it had always offered to match.

  • EnhancedStock value on the Products listProducts & Inventory

The Products list shows stock value at cost (quantity times purchase cost) and a Totals row for the catalogue you are viewing. Click Stock value to sort highest first. Export CSV includes that column as a number you can sum, plus the same total. Untracked products and products with no purchase cost are left out. Reports > Products sales is what sold in a period, not what is on the shelf.

  • EnhancedPackage expiry in days and weeks, not only monthsPrepaid Packages

A package expiry used to be a whole number of months, so a one week intensive had to be sold as one month and gave away three extra weeks on every sale. Now the expiry period has a unit beside the number: days, weeks or months, or no expiry at all. Pick it per package, and set the default your new packages start on under Settings > Packages. Everything you already sell keeps the months it has, and the expiry on a package already sold never moves.

Memberships

  • EnhancedPayment plans can bill weekly or fortnightly, not only every 4 weeksMemberships

A payment plan used to bill every 4 weeks and nothing else, so an 8-week programme priced at 100 a week had to be sold as two payments of 400. Now you pick the cycle: weekly, fortnightly, every 4 weeks or every 6 weeks, as long as it divides the term you chose. An 8-week term billed weekly is 8 payments; a 12-week course every 4 weeks is still 3. The editor offers only the cycles that fit the term. Everything else about payment plans is unchanged: the included services are granted once per term, the plan renews each term, and the client is committed until the term ends. Plans you already sell keep billing exactly as they do today.

  • NewMembership plans can add credit to a client's balance with every paymentMemberships

Add a benefit with type Credit and an amount, and every time a payment for the membership is collected that amount lands on the client's credit balance, ready to spend at the till on anything. The amount can be more than the price: a plan priced 100 that adds 120 gives 100 of the client's own money and 20 of bonus each cycle. Each grant shows on the client's Wallet > Credit ledger as Membership credit with the plan named, a refunded membership payment takes its credit back in proportion, and the Membership summary report shows credit added beside revenue net of it. Needs Client credit switched on in Settings.

Online booking

  • EnhancedAny team member is shared across the dayOnline booking

When a client does not choose a team member, the booking goes to whoever has the fewest bookings that day. A client who picks someone still gets that person, and that booking counts, so the next open booking goes to someone else. Several guests at once each get a different team member. The name under a time is the person that time would be booked with. The times stay in order, and Schedule gaps is unchanged.

  • NewPay to book: no appointment until the deposit is paidPayments & Deposits

A new choice under Settings > Payments > Payment policy > When a client books online. With Pay to book, an online booking is not on your calendar until the deposit is paid: the time is held for 30 minutes while the client pays, other clients cannot take it, and if they walk away the hold lapses quietly and the booking appears under Incomplete bookings as Stopped at payment. Book now, pay within a window keeps today's behaviour, and now shows the release time on the calendar chip, the appointment panel and your notification. A second setting, Deposit applies to, lets you keep deposits for online bookings only, so appointments your team creates never ask for one. New accounts start on Pay to book. Businesses already requiring a deposit were left on Book now, pay within a window until they choose to switch; every other existing business is on Pay to book, so it applies from the day they turn deposits on.

  • NewCard on file: no appointment until the client saves a cardPayments & Deposits

The Card on file payment policy now holds the time the way Pay to book does, with nothing to switch on and no dependence on the deposit setting beside it. A client booking online with no saved card creates no appointment: their time is held for 30 minutes while they save one, nobody else can take it, and a team member who tries to book over it is told what the held time is waiting for. Nothing is charged at any point. The card is saved so you can charge a late-cancellation or no-show fee later if your cancellation policy applies, and saving it creates the appointment, already confirmed. If the client walks away the hold lapses quietly: nothing was ever booked, so nothing is cancelled and no appointment message goes out. The lead lands under Incomplete bookings as Stopped at card, where it gets your usual abandoned-booking follow-up: the bell, and the Incomplete booking reminder if you have it switched on. A client who already has a card saved is never asked again. A card asked for by a service or membership override, or a booking carrying products you take full payment for, still creates the appointment first and waits as Awaiting Card.

  • NewChoose whether members-only services show onlineMemberships

Members-only services have always appeared on your booking page with a Members only lock, inviting non-members to join. A new switch under Settings > Online booking > Appearance lets you hide them from the booking page instead: the service list and its search, bundles, shared links, saved and rebooked carts, and the page's search-engine data all drop them for anyone whose own membership doesn't cover them, and the gift card page stops offering them to anyone. A covered member still sees and books them as usual, and your team can always book them from the scheduler.

  • NewCap how many appointments a day takes onlineOnline booking

A new Appointments per day setting under Settings > Booking policies stops online booking piling a tenth appointment onto a day you can only comfortably do eight of. Once a day reaches your number it offers no more times on your booking page, and your team can still book that day from the Scheduler. A booking counts as one appointment however many services or people it covers, and cancellations and no-shows hand the capacity straight back. Pair it with your waitlist and a full day captures demand instead of turning clients away. The availability figures on the settings page show what a limit would cost you before you save it.

  • EnhancedRoom to grow: higher limits across the boardBooking Page Customisation

Every cap that only existed because a number had to be picked has been raised. Your booking page gallery holds 30 photos (was 10) and each service 10 images (was 5); a form question takes 10 files (was 5); a loyalty programme holds 50 rewards (was 20); gift cards allow 30 custom designs (was 10) and 20 preset amounts (was 10), the same 20 for client credit top-up amounts and bonus tiers; and an online order can carry 20 units of a product across 30 lines (was 10 and 20). Photos are still optimised on upload and load as the client scrolls, so a fuller page costs nothing. Limits that protect something specific, such as 20 API keys or 5,000 rows per import, are unchanged.

  • EnhancedPut the booking steps in your own wordsBooking Page Customisation

The booking wizard itself is now customisable: the Services, Team member and Date & time step headings, each step's subtitle, and the Continue button label can be reworded under Settings > Online booking > Appearance > Booking steps. Blank fields keep the standard copy, and the Review & book step keeps its own fixed heading and button.

  • NewA terms of service and privacy policy for your business, written for youOnline booking

Your booking page now publishes both, at yourbookinglink/terms and yourbookinglink/privacy, filled in with your business name and contact details. They cover what booking with you involves, what you collect, who it goes to and how a client stops your messages, and they are linked under the phone number field where clients sign in. Nothing to write and nothing to switch on. If you already have your own, put the links under Settings > Business settings and yours are used everywhere instead, including on your text-verification application in the US and Canada, where carriers now require both.

  • NewAsk clients to accept your terms before they bookOnline booking

Add your own terms of service link under Settings > Business settings and clients are asked to agree to them on Review & book. The booking waits until they turn the switch on. Bella records which terms they accepted and when, so you have the evidence if it is ever questioned, asks once instead of every visit, and asks again only if you change the link. Setting the link is the intent. Businesses using the terms Bella provides are not asked to accept anything.

  • EnhancedSigning in explains your texts, and booking is never held up by a tick boxOnline booking

The wording about your appointment texts has moved to where clients actually give their number: right under the phone field when they sign in, naming your business, what you send, how often, the usual carrier notes and how to stop. Review & book keeps the optional offers and promotions switch, off until a client turns it on. Book appointment is never greyed out waiting for a messaging control. Returning clients no longer re-confirm anything to book, and the screenshot your text verification needs is captured from that sign-in step for you.

  • EnhancedSearch engines and AI assistants can read your booking profile and reviewsOnline booking

Your public booking page publishes a structured listing of your business: the type you run, your name, the address, hours and contact details you chose to show, and your published Bella reviews. Search engines and AI assistants can read that listing. When you have at least one published review on the Professional plan (and during trial), those reviews also have their own page at yourbookinglink/reviews.

Clients

  • EnhancedTreatment plans read as a whole plan in the client portalTreatment Plans

A client opening their treatment plan now sees every phase, not just the one the calendar says is current: the phase they are in opens on load, a phase that has not started yet shows the date it starts, and the rest sit folded behind Show details. Recommended products read as a numbered homecare routine in the order you set them (new up and down controls on each product in the plan editor), and the overview and phase notes are written in the same formatting editor as a service description, so lists, bold and italics reach the client intact. A phase with a label but no start week becomes current as soon as the phase before it is marked complete, and the plan editor shows the calendar date each week number lands on as you type it.

  • EnhancedTimeline notes read first, and the client record fits a small laptopClient Management

On a 13 inch Windows laptop the client record left the Timeline notes about a quarter of the screen. The tab now puts previous notes first: in the normal panel they fill the pane and the editor waits behind an Add a note button until you want it; maximise the panel and previous notes sit on the left with the editor open on the right, so you can read the last consultation while you write today's. A half-written note never folds away. The header is one row (photo, name, contact, tags), tags live on the name line behind an Add tag button instead of a full-width box, and on short screens the stats and attendance warnings share a single line. The phone number and email in the header open the same call, SMS and copy menu as everywhere else.

Team

  • EnhancedCalendar feed keeps a year of appointmentsTeam Management

The calendar subscription URL on a team member now includes their appointments from the past year through the next year, so a name search on the phone still finds clients from the last 12 months. Calendar apps refresh on their own schedule. Appointments older than a year, and cancelled ones, leave the subscribed calendar on the next refresh. Google Calendar sync is unchanged: past appointments it has already pushed stay on Google.

Scheduler

  • EnhancedGive a blocked time its own colourScheduler

Blocking out time now has a Scheduler colour field, the same one your services have. A block leaves it alone and follows your business-wide blocked time colour, so recolouring that under Settings > Scheduling still repaints every block that never picked its own. Give one a colour and it keeps it everywhere the calendar draws it: the day, week and month views, the agenda, and the badges on the Team schedule and Resource schedule. On a repeating block you can colour a single occurrence and leave the rest of the series alone, so the Tuesday team meeting reads differently from the daily lunch break at a glance.

  • NewArrange Week view by day instead of by personScheduler

Week view has always shown one column per team member or resource with the whole week underneath it. A new Arrange by choice in the Team & resources filter can flip that: pick By day and each column becomes one day of the week, with everyone side by side underneath it, so you can compare who is doing what on Tuesday across your whole team the way you would otherwise compare one person's whole week. It appears once two or more columns are showing, and it is a personal preference that follows you between devices like the rest of that menu.

Campaigns

  • NewSee which clients unsubscribed, bounced or openedTwo-Way Messaging

A campaign used to tell you that two people unsubscribed and one bounced without telling you who. The recipients table now names them: every row on an email campaign shows what that client did once it landed, and a new Engagement filter narrows the list to just the ones who unsubscribed, bounced, opened, clicked or marked it as spam. A bounce brings the reason with it, so a dead address reads differently from a mail server having a bad morning. Export saves whatever you are looking at. It works on every campaign you have already sent, not only new ones.

Notifications

  • EnhancedA second follow-up, out to a yearAutomated Notifications

There are now two follow-up messages. Second follow-up sits under First follow-up in Settings > Automated messages and works exactly the same way, with its own wording, delay, channels and services, and one difference: its delay reaches 365 days rather than 14. So a clinic can check in the day after a treatment and again at six months, and a salon can send a yearly reminder for the service someone books once a year. The three-day limit counts each follow-up separately, so a client can get both inside three days. Both are part of Messages Plus.

  • NewFollow-up messagesAutomated Notifications

Bella can now check in with a client once their appointment is over, in your own words: aftercare after a facial, a note on how colour is settling, a thank you after a first visit. Switch on First follow-up under Settings > Automated messages, write the SMS and the email, and pick when it goes, anywhere from within 15 minutes of the appointment ending out to 14 days after it. The sender runs on a 15-minute cycle, so the shortest option goes out on the first run after the appointment's end time, up to 15 minutes later. Send it for every service, or only for the services and bundles that need it, and there is a switch that keeps it to a client's first visit. Follow-ups go out between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm in your timezone, and one client gets at most one First follow-up every three days, so a colour on Tuesday and a trim on Thursday are not two texts. The email sends anywhere; the SMS goes from your own dedicated number. You can send one by hand too: Send first follow-up on the appointment opens a preview of exactly what the client will get, and you can reword it for that send alone without touching the template. A by-hand send ignores the service scope, the first-visit switch, the 8:00 am to 8:00 pm window and the three-day limit. Part of Messages Plus.

  • EnhancedWhat needs attention, firstTeam Management

The notification bell now puts what needs action at the top. A Needs attention section pins the newest client messages that failed to send and the online bookings held for your approval, a card on file or a deposit, up to five at a time; when more need action a View all link opens the full list already filtered. Everything else sits under Recent, newest first, so a busy morning of confirmations no longer buries the one booking waiting on you. The section disappears when nothing needs action.

  • NewDecide what a client's "no" to a reminder doesTwo-Way Messaging

When a client texts back No, N or Cancel to an appointment reminder, you now choose what happens under Settings > Messaging > How replies work. Flag it for follow-up is the default: the reminder is marked Declined - needs follow-up in Messages and you get a notification, and the appointment waits for you. Cancel the appointment does what the client would from their booking page: your self-cancel and notice-period rules still apply, your own Cancelled appointment message goes out and you get the usual cancellation notification, and if your rules refuse the cancel it falls back to a flagged reply that tells you why. A yes now confirms the appointment any time before it starts, and your own Confirmed appointment message is the reply the client gets, on the channels you have on for it (its SMS channel is off by default), so you decide the wording, the channel, or switch it off. Yes and no both tolerate punctuation and a few words of filler (Yes., Yes please, No thanks); anything with more in it stays in your inbox for you to read. Three new bell notifications come with it: a client who replied no, a client who replied yes to a booking still waiting on your approval, and a client who texted STOP, so you hear about an opt-out before their next reminder fails.

  • EnhancedConfirm and cancel links work without signing inAutomated Notifications

The confirm and cancel links in your reminders and confirmations now carry a signed token for that one appointment, so a client who taps Cancel in a text is asked to confirm the cancellation, not to sign in. The link is their proof, the same way a YES or NO reply from their phone is. Rescheduling and paying still ask for the client's account.

  • EnhancedRelease the time when a client leaves the payment pagePayments & Deposits

Auto-cancel unpaid deposits now goes down to 30 minutes, and with Stripe the payment page is given the same deadline as the booking (up to a day), so a client who starts paying and walks away has their time released the moment the page expires, not on a later sweep. Set it under Settings > Payments > Payment policy > Auto-cancel unpaid: 30 minutes if you want an abandoned checkout gone as soon as possible (on Square, where the deposit is taken on the booking page itself, the usual 15-minute check does the releasing), a longer window if your clients tend to pay from the email later. The booking page tells the client until when their time is held (this is the Book now, pay within a window option; see Pay to book under Online booking). Nothing changes unless you choose a window: Don't auto-cancel is still the default, and a window you already had keeps its length. The window applies only to bookings clients make themselves online, and only to those made after you switch it on; appointments your team creates, the bookings already on your calendar, and any imported from another system are never touched.

Programmes

  • NewLoyalty rewards can be a free service or productLoyalty programme

A loyalty reward no longer has to be money off. Under Settings > Loyalty, each reward's Benefit type now offers Free item beside Percentage off and Amount off: pick a service, a bundle or a product and give it for the points, outright or at a discount. Name more than one and the client gets one of them, the dearer one if they book two; a bundle counts as a single item, so a free bundle covers every service in it. The reward comes off the bill when that item is on it, and the till greys it out until it is, saying what to add. Free products can be redeemed on a walk-in sale as well as at an appointment, and a refund hands the points and the stock back. Points are only ever spent on a reward that gives something: a reward that would take nothing off the bill is refused, and the client keeps their points. Percentage-off rewards are new too, and every existing reward carries on exactly as it was.

  • NewBirthday reward can be a free service or productBirthday rewards

A birthday reward no longer has to be money off. Under Settings > Birthday, Benefit type now offers Free item beside Percentage off and Amount off: pick a service, a bundle or a product and give it outright, or at a discount if you would rather. Name more than one and the client gets one of them, the dearer one if they book two; a bundle counts as a single item, so a free bundle covers every service in it. The gift applies when that item is on the appointment, so a free facial comes off the bill the moment it is booked; if it is not on the appointment, nothing is discounted and the gift stays waiting. Your team sees a prompt at the till offering to add it, and the client sees the same prompt in their online booking. The birthday messages follow: RewardAmount now reads "a free Express Facial" as happily as "20%", and a new BirthdayGift merge field writes the whole sentence for you, expiry included.

Discounts

  • NewDiscount one product on its ownPayments & Deposits

A product row takes a discount of its own, the same way a service row does. Wherever you build a bill - an appointment you are booking, editing or checking out, and a walk-in sale - click Add discount on the product line and pick a preset reason or enter a one-off amount. The base is the whole row, unit price times quantity, so 3 units at 30 each discount against 90. It comes off whatever is left on that row after a membership benefit or a loyalty reward, and your order-level discount then computes on what remains. A promo code picked on a product row is checked the way a typed one is: its Applies to, its expiry, its usage limit and its once-per-client rule all run, so a Services code on a product row takes nothing off. The Discount summary report gains a Breakdown by item card, listing each per-line discount against the service or the product it landed on.

  • NewPromo codes can be limited to specific servicesPayments & Deposits

A promo code can now name the services it discounts. Open the reason under Settings > Discounts, set Applies to Services, and under Which services pick Specific services and choose them; leave it on All services and the code keeps working the way it does today. A BROWS50 code set to your brow services takes its amount off those services and nothing else, and a booking or bill with none of them is told the code doesn't apply to those items. A bundle is covered through the services it includes. A code set to Services and products always covers every service and every product. This works wherever codes are entered: online booking, the till, and a walk-in sale.

Reports

  • EnhancedDashboard money follows how you tradeDashboard & Reports

Plenty of businesses book every appointment in Bella and take payment on their own terminal or in cash, without ringing the appointment through Checkout. Their dashboard used to open on Total revenue of zero and an empty revenue chart. Now the dashboard reads how you trade: if you rang your appointments through Checkout in the selected range, the money cards are Total revenue and Avg sale value from your sales, as before. If you did not, they become Appointment value and Avg appointment, the value of what you booked, and the Services by category chart uses the same basis. Your weekly digest, the location stats under Settings > Business settings and Bella AI follow the same rule. A one-line note under the cards explains what ringing appointments through Checkout adds: revenue, average sale, takings by day and the sales reports.

Payments

  • NewAnnual billing on Professional

Professional can now be paid for a year at a time instead of month by month, at a 20% saving against twelve monthly payments. It is the same plan either way: every Professional feature and the same team member and SMS allowances. Only the billing period changes. Monthly is still there and still the default, and Solo and Starter stay monthly. You can cancel any time, and your plan stays active to the end of the period you have paid for. The yearly price in your currency sits under the Professional card on the pricing page.

  • EnhancedCurrency guardrailsPayments & Deposits

Your currency now locks once Stripe or Square is connected, because your payment account and every payout live in it; the field says so instead of letting a change slip through. The Payments page names the currency your payouts arrive in. And Bella's own plan, Messages Plus and SMS credit purchases are charged in the currency you were shown.

  • EnhancedTake the appointment fee at booking and mark it non-refundablePayments & Deposits

Appointment fee under Settings > Booking policies now has two extra switches, both Off until you turn them on. Collect at booking takes the named fee in the amount due today as its own line, only when a deposit amount is actually due. A $0 deposit, card on file, pay later, and an admin waive leave the fee until the appointment. Non-refundable leaves the paid fee out of a default refund, even when the cancellation policy would return the rest of the deposit. Your team can still include it with Full refund. This is still your method-neutral appointment fee, not a Bella per-booking cut and not the card processing surcharge.

Forms

  • NewSay who fills a form in, so an internal note stays yoursForms & Intake

The Settings tab now asks Who fills this form in. Client is the setting every form you have today is on: the client gets a link by email and SMS and completes it themselves. Team member is the new one, for a form that is a business record. Your team fills it in on the dashboard, and it is never emailed, never texted, never sent automatically and never appears in the client's account, however it is completed. Until now there was no way to mark a form as yours, so notes your team wrote on one showed up on the client's My forms page as soon as they were finished. Frequency, auto-send and service and product linking are all hidden on a team member form, because nothing about one is ever sent, and the forms list and both Forms tabs badge one, so you can tell one from a client's intake form at a glance. Who fills a form in is fixed once a form has submissions: changing it would alter what people were told when they answered, so duplicate the form and set the copy instead.

  • NewAsk for client details and have them arrive already filled inForms & Intake

Add field now offers Client details: tick First name, Last name, Email, Phone number or Date of birth and each becomes a field on the form. When the client opens it they see what you already hold, as a short summary with an Update button, so the usual answer is to read it and carry on rather than retype four things. Anything you have not got shows as an empty field, so a form still collects the birthday you never had. Each field carries a switch for whether a correction is saved to the client record: on by default for names and date of birth, which clients can already change themselves from online booking, and off for email and phone, which are how every message reaches them. With the switch off the answer is still recorded, shown beside the value on the record and marked Differs, with an Update profile button for when you are ready. A blank answer never clears what is on the record.

  • NewStart a form from a template, beginning with a SOAP noteForms & Intake

Forms has an Add from template button beside Add form. The first template is a SOAP note: 52 fields across Subjective, Review of systems, Objective, Assessment, Plan and Follow-up, with only the chief complaint required. It arrives as an ordinary form you can reword, inactive, and set to Team member, so it stays a business record: your team fills it in with Fill in for client, and the client never sees it. Built for physios, chiros, med spas and any clinic that writes up an appointment afterwards.

  • EnhancedSee form status on the calendar and the appointments listForms & Intake

When a form is on a booking you can see whether it is still waiting or already in, without opening the appointment. Day and week cards show a clipboard while a form is pending, and a clipboard with a check once it is completed. Hover the card, or look at the Form column on the appointments list, or the peek panel: they all say Form pending or Form completed. Month cells stay as they are (too small for another mark); the hover tooltip still names the form.

Lists

  • EnhancedSort more lists by the heading you need, with dates newest first

More list headings sort when you click them: Sales by Total or Sale date, Gift cards by Amount, Balance, Expires or Purchased, Reviews by Rating or Date, Products by Price, Suppliers by supplier or contact name, sold packages by Expires, and Client orders by Total. Date headings put the newest first. Click again, or click the heading a list already opens on, to reverse the order. Headings that sort by name ignore capital letters, so "anna" sits beside "Anna".
